My Phone

As many of you know, I have a Nokia 6280, and have done for some time. I know the screen on my last one died, I think it was the cold, even if it was in a warm pocket of my Ambulance coat?!?!

Then I had problems with signal…and the lack of it with my phone, when the person next to me (on orange also) had full. A couple of weeks later the problem was resolved, even if it did mentioning the Sales of Goods Act 1979.

I have had lots of problems recently with charging the phone…in the fact that it wouldnt charge. Contacted Orange, and a large phone bill later, they agreed to send me a charger. Great, now I can charge my phone…or not as it appeared. Rang Orangeagain, and another long phone bill later, they sent me a new phone. Fantastic, New Charger, and a New Phone. It has got to work…well, it didnt

Rang Orange today, and yet another long phone bill passed before they decided to send me a new phone, battery and charger. They say it will arrive tomorrow, so I will be intrigued to see whether they can impress me with their deliveries again.

My Knee

I am in a disabled car park space, getting a wheelchair out of the car-boot for a relative. I take out the wheel, put it on the floor. Take out the second wheel, bend down to place it on the floor when I hear a nice (however quiet) pop in my right knee.

This is rapidly followed by me on the ground screaming in pain, before clambering into the car. I roll around for a bit, still screaming, before straightening my leg. This is harder than it sounds;I have to go slowly, with my eyes closed putting up with the excruciating pain.

No I know, I am First Aid trained, and the main thing you learn with jointinjuries like this is “Do NOT move them until they have been checked”. But its different on myself, I go with the early mobilization less pain in the long term! However, whilst here at the roadside, I did wonder if any of the passersby happened to be carrying entonox*. It would have been a much nicer experience with it, even if I don’t end up giggling like a schoolgirl (*ahem* Mr.W)

This has happened to me a couple of times before, and before you all shout, I will go and see the doctor for further treatment.

*Entonox

More commonly know as Gas and Air or Laughing Gas, Entonox is an analgesic, or pain relieving gas often used in trauma situations. As I said, some people giggle, some (unfortunately like me) do not.

Anyways, Take Care… (and look after your knees!)

Half Term

this week has quickly drawn to an End, and what have I done.

I was planning to take lots of pictures of Chichester and surrounding areas, instead spent most of the holidays in Bed feeling ill….and Lou, I don’t blame you. You apoligised for me being ill first!! :P
Disobeyed a friends instructions, and went to Fontwell whilst ill.
Went to the dentist…ill
Went out to lunch…ill (and then injured my knee)
“Played” in the office…ill
Worked…ill

I’ll talk about my knee in another post

Shrove Tuesday (Pancakes!!)

Havn’t had my pancakes yet…maybe i’ll have them tomorow.

Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the period that Christians call Lent, the time of preperation for Easter. Lent is a time of giving things up, and indulge yourself with the foods you cannot eat during Lent. We eat pancakes, because they contain Fat, Butter and Eggs which were forbidden during Lent.

Shrove Tuesday will always be 47 days before Easter Sunday, therefore the date is going to change each year. Whereas this year it falls on the 20th Feb, in 2008 it will be the 5th Feb. I set you the challenge of working out the next year it will occure on the 6th Feb…My Birthday!

I am here…honest

Ok, so I may not have been blogging recently. It may have something to do with me getting food poisoning on my Birthday, which lasted a few days. It wasn’t very nice at all…well, got better, and am now ill again. This is the second time this month already.

This time, I reckon someone (who I will not name, but my commenters may!!) passed the bug onto me. Put it this way, she had the same symptons, and lost them as I got them…coincidence??

I have high temperatures, colds, hearing problems, chesty-coughs, even managed to lose my voice over the past two days. Any medical people out there, feel free to diognose me, and then you can tell me how to treat myself! I am bored of soup.

As for better news, Mr.M, Mr.B and I have finally got our office complete, with lots of help from Mrs.B, Pops and Mumsy……

Its my Birthday

Dell developing handheld games console

Dell is gearing up to take on Nintendo’s DS and Sony’s PSP with a gaming-oriented handheld console of its own, the company has admitted. That said, it’s keeping mum about the details.

Speaking last week at a Dell event in Spain, the company’s head of gaming products, Abizar Vakharia, confirmed that the company has its eye in the direction of a gaming handheld, UK mag PCPlus reports

“You know, that’s definitely one that’s on the radar screen,” he said, “but we have no plans to talk about anything today.”

Dell would be going up against some stiff competition if it tried to enter the market, not something it usually relishes. Last year, for instance, it dropped out of the MP3 player arena after failing to dent the marketshares of leaders Apple and SanDisk.

Dell still offers a trio of Axim-brand PDAs, and it’s possible it might pitch a fourth model as a gaming device now there are a fair few games available for Windows Mobile devices. Another option is a UMPC-like device. Since it would potentially run a full version of Windows, it could play an even broader range of PC-oriented titles. However, balancing those games’ hunger for system resources and performance against the kind of battery life handheld console owners expect will prove an interesting challenge.
